What are 5 great things about you?

“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Gal. 5:22-23 AMP)

When we invite God’s presence in our lives His qualities become part of us. We start changing on the inside, which shows up in the way we treat others. When we know and believe that we are loved by the tender powerful Creator of the Universe, His love spills out of us.

Do I possess these fruits/qualities? Which one is the most difficult for me?

We can invite God to give us more love, joy, or peace...but it also depends on our willingness to think in a different way. If we are lacking joy, maybe we find ourselves thinking about the negative in life or others. We can choose to look at the good which brings us joy. It is hard to show love when we think hateful thoughts. Each “fruit” is this way and involves thinking in a way that leads to possessing that quality.

God, I want Your qualities. Please give me your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Remind me how to think great about You, life, myself. In Jesus name
