What are five things I am thankful for?

Words and thoughts by @micah_owings

Yesterday we discussed the different people or “someone’s” in our life that God uses to speak to us. Today let’s talk about someone called the Holy Spirit. It’s hard to view the Holy Spirit as “someone” but I encourage you to begin trying.

I grew up going to different churches, especially the older I got with baseball and traveling. Most home churches I went to and those that I visited would speak about God the Father and Jesus the Son (the Savior). However, the Holy Spirit wasn’t talked about a whole lot. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve studied more and believe strongly in the Holy Spirit.

Like we accept Jesus into our heart & trust God the Father, we need to welcome the Holy Spirit into our lives on a regular basis. Before Jesus ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God, He comforted His disciples. Jesus knew life would be tough and that it IS tough. He sent us a HELPER until He comes back for us. You and I can take great comfort in this Scripture below and in the presence of the Holy Spirit!!

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.”

John 14:16-17 AMP
