Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 The Message Bible)

The Great Commission given by Jesus is one of those passages that is memorized, but what does it really mean? What does it mean for each of us personally? How do we implement this “charge”?

God placed us in the exact place that we are right now for a reason. There is a reason that you live in the neighborhood you live in. There is a purpose for your child attending the school that they go to. There is a reason if you move. There is a plan in why you work where you work. Thankfully, there is a reason when God changes things up and there are unknowns.

We are to share Jesus everywhere. Whether we live His love out in our lives by serving others around us or we are prompted to speak about Him or we feel led to pray for people around us- we are placed in the spot we are in to share His love! In order to, share His love, we must stay plugged in to His heart with the knowledge that we are loved and treasured by Him. Living in His love keeps us full, thus giving His love away is natural, because there is a constant flow from His heart to ours.

Today, if we are dreading our day? We can remember, we are there for a reason. This truth gives great peace. Jesus stated, “I’ll be with you as you do this.” (Mat. 28: 20 MSB) We are living on holy assignments from Him even in the routine, and He is walking beside us as we share His love.

God,
Help me to look for opportunities to share Your love and show me how to do this. Thank You for Your purpose and plan for me. In Jesus name
