I am thankful to God for:

1.

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22 NLT)

When you remember a message or talk from four or five years, that is an impact! Years ago at Gwinnett Church the New Year’s Message was about choosing a Fruit of the Spirit to embrace for a year. As soon as we got in the car, all seven of us (me, my husband, and our five kids) started talking about which fruit we would choose. My kids chose for me saying, “Mom, you are joyful and loving, but you are NOT peaceful,” they all agreed! Grabbing a slice of humble pie, I admitted they were right.

Their honesty that day created a desire in me to change and grow, so for years I have been diving into peace. Tomorrow I will share what this looked like for me. I am so thankful to have been given honest feedback. For four years peace has been my fruit to embrace for the year. I’ll keep choosing peace until it becomes second nature. Then I’ll begin again with another fruit.

What fruit do you choose?

God, please give me Your fruits of the Spirit. Show me what needs to change in my thinking so I can embrace the fruit You have for me. In Jesus name
