What is good in my life?

Sometimes I get stuck in these questions, especially if it's raining, dreary, and cold. It takes more effort to think of the amazing. These are a few of my answers:

  • Friends, people who know me and love me anyway.

  • My siblings and brother and sister in-law who I can call at any time and they will help me.

  • Music, singing a song can change a boring day into one of laughter.

When we get stuck thinking about the good, what we are thankful for, and God's gifts to us, our face shows it. Whether we realize it or not, we wear our thoughts. Even when we put on a mask and fake a smile, what we are thinking peaks through. When we think God thoughts, we reflect His love.

Reading about Jesus in the book of John, I like to picture His face. My guess is that he looked peaceful, strong, and loving, that he had a countenance both inviting and warm. His face must have been so unthreatening, because He always drew a crowd. I want to be like that, don't you? Being a person who makes people feel like life is better because they are with us, that would reflect Jesus.

We get the GIFT of reflecting Him.

"Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of His face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him." (3 Corinthians 3:19 MSG)

Do I think about things that are life-giving to myself and others?

Do I want to wear the thoughts I think on my face?

God, I want my face to shine "with the brightness of” Your face. I want to be a reflection of Your heart. I give You all of the life stuff that competes for my joy, peace, and love. In Jesus name
