Can these bones live? Oh God, only You know.  Ezekiel 37:3

In this chapter of the Bible, Ezekiel looked out and saw a valley filled with dry bones. There was no life. Then God posed the question: Can these bones lives? Ezekiel gave a brilliant answer: God, only You know.

Do you need life today? Is there something that seems dead and without hope?  God said to Ezekiel—He says to you—“I will put my Spirit in you and you shall live. THEN you will know that I am the Lord.”  He was saying: “It is My Spirit that can breathe life, and when this thing is turned around, you will know Me better. You will know that I am the resurrection and the life.”  God has a supernatural turnaround waiting for you--resurrection, renewal, restoration that will ultimately bring you into a more intimate relationship with Him.

The point of the Holy Spirit’s power is not so much about instant miracles; it is about enabling each of us to live on a supernatural level in every detail of our lives.

I think we could live incredibly different lives, if we humbled ourselves in every situation and instead of worrying and freaking out and making plans that may or may not work, we ask the living and mighty God to invade our dryness and discouragement and hopelessness. The wind of His Holy Spirit will blow and suddenly there will be life where there was no life. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

Trust Him for this. Draw near to God and experience His faithfulness as never before. Draw near enough to hear His promise for you, and then cling to it. It’s not willpower. It’s “still-power.” Listen and hear God say: “I will put my Spirit within you and you shall live. Then you will know that I am the Lord. I have spoken, and I will do it.”  Will you trust? Will you choose? Will you yield?

*What area of your life feels dead? Where do you need life?

Holy Spirit, breathe into me the breath of life. I need Your restoration, Your renewal, Your resurrection power in my life today. I will be still and listen. I know that You are God. Amen.
