This is good in my life:

"Every person the Father gives me eventually comes running to me. And once a person is with me, I hold on and don't let go." (John 6:38 MSG) Thinking about this verse is life- giving!

Taking an honest look at our thoughts is so powerful. What or who am I thinking about? We get to choose what we do with the time we spend thinking. What we think affects our attitude, which affects the way people respond to us. Some moments it is easy to choose joy- others take effort. Living life around people, we get to choose how we think and respond to them. We get to choose to see others through the lens of Jesus. At times this is a challenge- when our feelings are hurt or someone is rude.

Yesterday, at 7:00 am I ran to Publix to get lunch stuff for my kids' lunches. The man in front of me at the check out line was on his phone, he did not acknowledge the man at the cash register or thank him. This bothered me, and I walked out thinking, "how rude!" What I didn't realize is that he had parked beside me. As he was getting in his car while still talking on his phone, I heard him say, "He only has a week to live."

This changed my perspective and in that moment I was humbled for being judgmental.  Thinking judgmental thoughts is not helpful, thinking about how others have wronged us is not life- giving, thinking about our faults does not help us get better.

What do I think about most of the time?

Is it life-giving?

Jesus promises to walk through life with us and He helps us to see others through His eyes!

Jesus, I invite You into my moments. May I see myself and others through Your eyes, and when I do this may my thoughts be life-giving! In Your name
