What is good in my life? (5 things)

Words and thoughts by @micah_owings

Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 ESV

This is what Jesus told His disciples when they were asking Jesus about Heaven. Jesus described earlier in v.2, “...I am going there (Heaven) to prepare a place for you.”

I’m no theologian but I believe that Jesus is telling us that he is preparing a place for us in Heaven with Him and God, and Jesus is going to do that by his death on the cross and resurrection.

Further down in the same chapter (John 14), Jesus mentions asking the Father (God) to send us another Counselor (the Holy Spirit) who will be with us forever.

Yesterday I wrote about salvation and how at times we re-pray the prayer and re-raise our hand (even if we physically don’t re-raise our hand, our heart is raising it again). During these moments we can get frustrated, and think is my faith not strong enough or have I not believed enough in Jesus before now? Again, I’m no theologian but I do believe I’ve had a relationship with Jesus for a long time, and in these moments I believe the Holy Spirit is calling on us. Even during the times that we wrestle in our faith, God appoints the Counselor to speak to our hearts and comforts us that He IS with us! “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my (Jesus) name, will teach you all the things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:26 NIV

Jesus, I invite You to show me more of who You are and I invite You into every area of my life.
